Master Programs to gain the upper edge….

Open to adults and student athletes, these programs are designed to take your sport to the next level, based on your body’s specific ability and range of motion, and not on generic training. We are happy to collaborate with coaches and parents to provide a well rounded treatment approach with long-term carryover.

Only 10 athletes will be accepted to each 10 week training program. Athletes who don’t get in will be placed on a waitlist for first-come first-serve for the next 10 week period.

Note: The following programs are for healthy athletes. If you have a current injury, you may sign up for Physical Therapy first, and then apply to a program once you have been determined to be a healthy candidate.

*Recommended beginning age is 8 years if patient is a student athlete. Younger students will be considered; however, all students must be able to fully participate and follow directions.

Program Benefits: Our activities and choices, particularly for kids, really does affect them later on in life. As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Avoid costly surgery down the road by making sure you are as prepared as possible for the sport you love.

An EDGE AHEAD: Master program for skiers

For those who want to improve their times, agility, and endurance. The perfect program for competitive ski racers and members of ski teams, as well as skiers and snowboarders who have tried it all and want to gain the upper edge. This is a 10 week program including thorough initial evaluation and assessment, followed by 9 advancing training visits, tailored to the athlete, focusing on multi-plane movements, perturbation training, proprioceptive movements, neural mobility and gliding techniques, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy and stretching techniques, and training in MO-STABILITY.

FASTER HARDER SMARTER: master program for overhead athletes

Do you want your child to be able to have the best chance at a college sports scholarship?  Does your child love sports and is highly active?  Does your child prepare enough to perform at their highest level with the least risk of injury? Does your child complain of popping or clicking in his/her shoulder?  Do they have soreness after practice or a game? 

Ready for a game changer? This program is specifically tailored to overhead athletes: baseball, softball, football, gymnastics, lacrosse, tennis, golf, swimming, volleyball, rock climbing and track and field throwing events, and more.

Set the correct foundation and base for overhead athletes now.   It’s important for overhead athletes to balance flexibility and stability. Be careful with “warmup” training  that focuses on working the front of chest/body.  Stretch correctly.  Be sure that your shoulders have the correct ratio of internal rotation to external rotation to prevent injury and to maximize throwing power.  Get the best rehab to prevent tear or subluxation.  Avoid little league elbow, Tommy John surgery, labrum or rotator cuff tear. Lengthen your sport career now, before its too late and bony changes are made.

Enhance neuromuscular control through rhythmic stabilization drills, hands on training, and perturbation training. This 10 week program includes a full initial sport-specific evaluation and assessment followed by progressive shoulder and scapular positioning, stabilization, strengthening, neuromuscular control, upper extremity biomechanics and progressing into a Thrower’s 10+ program with components of interval throwing and long toss.

Dynamic Movers: Master Program for dancers and gymnastics

From detailed foot and lower extremity biomechanics assessment, to training on avoiding bunions and strengthening the feet, to bony alignment of hips and neural mobility; this program covers it all. Dancers and gymnasts’ bodies have to be able to handle a wide range of movements with explosive control, which often leads to injury without the proper preparation. Did you know that not all people can stretch their way into the splits? Did you know gymnasts have one of the highest rates of urinary incontinence because they have weakened pelvic floor musculature from repeated impact on landing? Or that dancers can end up with a spondylolisthesis in their spine from over-extension?

This program allows freedom of movement with increased power, balance, and proprioception, as well as manual hands-on stretching, neural mobility, and joint range of motion.
